Water Beidge over a river

Heard of the song "Bridge over troubled water"? (not sure if this is the correct title and I forgot who wrote and sung the song. My bad I'm not very good at remembering things. Anyways I have not seen a picture yet of a water bridge over a river. Just now.

MY mother-in-law forwarded this picture to me. I just thought to share it here. It is one of the awesome pictures I've seen today :-) I wish someday I'll see this in person.

Even after you see it, it is still hard to believe !
WaterBridge in Germany . What a feat!
Six years, 500 million euros, 918 meters long.......now this is engineering!
This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany,
as part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg, near Berlin.
The photo was taken on the day of inauguration.
To those who appreciate engineering projects, here's a puzzle for you armchair engineers and physicists.
Did that bridge have to be
designed to withstand the additional weight of ship and barge traffic, or just the weight of the water?


Answer:
It only needs to be designed to withstand the weight of the water!
Why? A ship always displaces an amount of water that weighs the same as the ship,
regardless of how heavily a ship may be loaded.

Text messaging is getting real popular not only in the Philippines, even here in the US too. I should admit that through text you can fall in lust/love with someone you haven't met yet. ( it happened to me that's why I know. That is scary. But with camera phones now, texters can exchange photos. However, with more sophisticated technology today, adobe and all of kinds of editing for a picture is now also available.

Sometimes though you will in love with your text mates copied messages. Thousands of nice messages are circulating around the texters world. Most of them will make you dream while eating,taking a bath or disturb you when you are praying. All of the sudden while saying 'Hail Mary', face of Mario will suddenly appear.

Please don't say 'Hail Mario' :-) I love to text. When I was studying in college, a huge cut on my allowance went to cell cards. No longer now though. Since I don't have a texting plan (i'm glad not having it ) I usually call than texting. Not to mention that it is still expensive to send & receive text messages.

One of my all time favorite line is "LOVE the heart that hurt you...But never hurt the heart that loves you" I saw this line on the shout-out of my cousins friendster page.

I asked myself once again, who owned those hearts that truly loves me? Needless to mention the answer, I know it by heart. I'm not saying that we can't ever hurt the people that truly care for us but let us just try to avoid hurting them in any way. One effort at a time...
